Individual Portraits
There are many reasons to have an individual portrait taken. People want a special gift for a loved one. Or they need a Senior Portrait for their yearbook. Or perhaps they want to capture a special time in their lives, or commemorate a special occasion. My portraits hang in galleries in Canada and Bangladesh, in private homes, doctors' offices, and art centers. They reside on iPhones, websites, keychains and screensavers.
A true portrait is an evocation of a person's essence. It stands the test of time, and allows for nuances of emotion. Whether a portrait is made in my studio or at another location, the image is simple and accessible. The portrait unfolds throughout the session, with give and take between the photographer and subject.
