Frequently Asked Questions about Individual Portraits
Question: What should I wear for my individual portrait?
Answer: I suggest deep tones, such as dark gray, green, blue, brown or red. A simple V-neck is flattering for most people. I highly recommend long sleeves, as arms stand out in a portrait and draw attention away from the face. It's best to avoid patterns and heavy textures.
Question: Where will the individual portrait be taken?
Answer: We will work this out together when we discuss your goals for your portrait. It may be in my studio, your home, or another location.
Question: What about makeup? Should I wear makeup for my portrait?
Answer: Makeup adds dimension to a portrait. It smoothes skin and enhances your features. Even men benefit from having some foundation or powder. You may do your own makeup, or I can provide an on-site makeup artist for an additional fee.
Question: How will I know how to pose? What props will be used for my portrait?
Answer: I will guide you through many natural poses during the session. This is something you don't need to worry about. My goal is to help you to relax. We will use chairs or other simple household items to help you obtain the best relaxed pose.
